Listen and learn from our Legacy Speakers

The NOAC Legacy Speaker Series begins Tuesday in the Kellogg Center Auditorium. The Legacy Speaker Series is an opportunity for guests to hear from various speakers throughout the week talking about their legacy and background, and to ask the speakers questions. Joshua Hone, conference vice chief of special events, says “The Legacy Speaker Series will give Arrowmen a unique opportunity to interact with leaders who have left notable legacies in their respective fields. From Olympians to authors, the speakers will spark interest and inspiration in all Arrowmen.”

The diverse series of speakers will all focus on the legacy that they have left through their life. Tuesday’s speakers will be the National Council Key 3 at 1:00 PM, including Chief Scout Executive Wayne Brock, National President Wayne Perry, and National Commissioner Tico Perez. Following at 2:00 PM will be Eleanor Clark, author of the book The Legacy of Lord Baden-Powell, an adventure book about the principles of Scouting. Ms. Clark will be signing copies of her book at the OA Museum’s Endowment Trading Post following her speech, with proceeds of the books sold at NOAC going to the national endowment. You wont want to miss the Legacy Speaker Series; be sure to attend these unique opportunities!

NOAC Idol, Starring You!

The famous NOAC Talent Show is back again! NOAC’s most talented guests will test their singing, dancing, and performing skills, competing for the ultimate grand prize: a $45 REI gift card.

The contest will consist of a first round of auditions during the early part of the week, followed by the final round held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, Founders’ Day, at Munn Field. The National Officers are judging, and don’t worry, they’ve been busy watching the past four years of American Idol re-runs to perfect their Simon Cowell impressions.

The first round of auditions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm each afternoon, in the air-conditioned surroundings of Erickson Room 103. Auditions are open to all, so come and watch your contingent’s rising stars qualify for the finals later this week.

Judging will be based on appearance, stage presentation, audience appeal, and ability. All acts must be compliant with the Scout Oath and Law.
