Training For Tomorrow

While waiting on the blue line, all Trevor B. could talk about was the great training that he was taking part in this week.  As we got onto the shuttle, the new lodge chief of Ashwanchi Kinta Lodge raved about the National Council of Chiefs saying, “I will definitely be taking the things that I learned back to my lodge to engage more members.”

Arrowmen like Jack B. from Egwa Tawa Dee Lodge have been excited about the diverse sessions they attended, from “Patches 101″ to “How to work with your adviser.” Adults have also been taking advantage of afternoon sessions that serve as roundtable discussions.

At this NOAC, the training staff has also included a number of new sessions designed for aspiring Eagle Scouts.  One of those life scouts, Matt Hartigan from Woa Cholena Lodge, expressed his excitement for his session today. Hartigan felt that “the NESA session will help motivate me to get finished with my Eagle.”

Today Arrowmen can take advantage of NOAC’s final training session “Marketing Your Camp Programs.” This one-time session, which is being taught by Western Region Director Tom Fitzgibbon, will be held in Wilson Hall, room C102 and will provide vital information to use at home in your council. Because of the popularity of this session, the Training Committee has requested that each contingent send two adults who will be best suited to use this information back home.

Although the training at this conference is coming to an end, the training committee says your growth and development as a leader and Arrowman will not. It is important to continue to think about those topics on which you were trained and use them in your home lodges.
