Alvin Townley Speaks at National Council of Chiefs

National Council of Chiefs

The 2009 National Council of Chiefs is one of the highlights for the Lodge Chiefs, and Section Chiefs that attend NOAC. This one was a very special, we had the honor of having Alvin Townley, author of Spirit of Adventure, and Legacy of Honor speak to all in attendance at the end of the meeting.

Alvin Townley has spent three years traveling throughout the country and around the world to explore the legacy of Scouting. In a true adventure spanning thousands of miles, he has met with Eagle Scouts from all walks of life. In 2007, St. Martin's Press released his acclaimed first book, Legacy of Honor. Spirit of Adventure was released on May 12, 2009.

An Eagle Scout and brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, Alvin completed high adventure treks at Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier Canoe Base, and the Florida Sea Base. He graduated from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and has worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, helped manage global strategy for a $9B international consulting firm, served his alma mater during a $240M campaign, and coached track at Atlanta's Marist School.

Alvin lives in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, and travels often to share his message.
