Meet the Man

meet the man

Meet the Man: On Monday afternoon, in the Willkie Auditorium, we had the 2nd Meet the Man. The theme of this one was 2010 Jamboree. In attendance were Mike Hoffman, Jeffery Jonasen, Chris Grove, and Max Sasseen.

Mike Hoffman opened the floor by speaking about the many opportunities at the Jamboree for Arrowman. With Chief's Corps, not only do you have to do a little bit of work, but also there are new ways to have fun! Every night at the Jamboree, there will be several things to do. With Chief's Corps there are plenty of things to do such as, collection tickets for the shows, helping with the shows, and even working the water slides. There are 180 youth spots available for Chief's Corps at the Jamboree, so you better reserve your spot today! Here are some links of interest: oashows.org, and oashows.blogspot.com

Jeff Jonasen spoke about how Service Corps has been around 60 years, and provides a lot of work behind the scenes, and shows. Most of the adult positions have been filled. One of the most fun parts is getting to work with the Secret Service when the President comes to one of the shows.

Chris Grove was focused on the opportunities at the Jamboree. "You get access to behind the scenes stuff." With that, most scouts are sold on the idea. Service Corps is one of the most fun ways you can serve on Staff at the Jamboree, especially if you're an Arrowman.

Mike Sasseen spoke of the patrol-based methods that the Service Corps will be using in there everyday activates. He also spoke about the 60 years the Service Corps have been around to help staff the National Jamboree's.

After the first 40 minutes, they opened the floor to questions. Most were on the subject of the Jamboree. But a few were on the new Jamboree site, and new High Adventure Base, and the Order of the Arrow 100th anniversary in 2015.
