What does the THE POWER OF ONE Mean?
As you already know, the Order of the Arrow is not a place, a thing, a single person, or even an event. Rather, it is a thing of the spirit. Likewise, THEPOWEROFONE is not just a theme for the 2009 NOAC. It is a perspective on life, a forward-looking vision, and a concept that could enable new friendships and tremendous impact.
Although you may have been unable to attend NOAC 2009 here at Indiana University,
we still invite you to search, along with other NOAC guests, for the power within
each
one of us. Our theme can be as meaningful to you back home as it is to us.
A few short years ago, the OA was limited by how it could reach and connect with its members. Through communication mediums like NOAC re:MIX and NOAC LIVE!, our reach is virtually limitless. It is our hope to convey the NOAC theme to you. THEPOWEROFONE is personal, yet universal. It is limited to each person, but is boundless in impact.
This week, there are over 3,700 Arrowmen experiencing NOAC for the first time. The energy and excitement that our Arrowmen have brought to this event is at the core of leadership and service. We ask you to be prepared to engage your friends and fellow lodge members as they return home from NOAC. Get them to share their ideas, perspectives, adventures, and plans for the newest generation of Arrowmen around the country. Your role is just as important as theirs, and the THEPOWEROFONE is sure to hit home well beyond the last day of this conference.
Ultimately, life is an adventure. Understanding oneself is like drawing up a map for that adventure. At NOAC, we have embarked upon a journey to discover who we are and what we are capable of. Will you join us? Will you, too, look within and discover your own THEPOWEROFONE?
