The Day it Poured

The afternoon of our second full day of fun in Ames turned into a scurry to find shelter. Once again many Arrowmen in full outfit for ceremonies or dance were caught in the rain. I say once again since the 1994 NOAC at Purdue University had a similar downpour on such a day. Even with rain, the spirits of those at the conference were still high.
Tuesday’s theme is American Indian Events and Induction and Ceremonial Events. This is depicted in our main graphic and in our coverage for the day. Throughout the rainy afternoon some Arrowmen decided that it would be wise to take a shower. Others outfitted themselves and danced to contentment. Still others participated in ceremonies. There was also a pictorial cancellation of two different envelopes available at the Trading Post.
The "History" Show was a great event as Arrowmen learned a small part about the vast history of E. Urner Goodman, the founder of the Order. The excitement in the show clearly had risen to a new level from the previous show. It is clear that NOAC is in full swing.
Tuesday brings us to the middle of the conference and with it many exciting events. The American Indian Show tonight was a sight to see as Arrowmen danced, sang, and drummed their way into NOAC history.
The greatest part of any NOAC is the lasting friendships that are made throughout the week. Every NOAC many of the same faces and names can be seen. It is one of the greatest ideals of the Order and of brotherhood.
For the final full day of NOAC we will cover the Founder’s Day Celebration. This is truly a great event of NOAC. Please come back tomorrow and take a look at what happens.
