Arrival Day '98
After traveling for hours, sometimes days, lodge contingents are welcomed
to the 1998 NOAC at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. The first stop is the
Information Booth where contingent leaders receive registration instructions. |
The leaders guide their contingents to the region tents for NOAC
orientation before continuing with the registration process. |
While participants are briefed about the Conference activities and events
from their Region Chief, |
the Lodge Chief and his Contingent Adviser are busy checking in, turning
in medical forms, settling financial matters, and receiving the participant packets for
their contingents. |
The contingent leaders return after completing registration and begin the
process of unloading their luggage. |
Although registration on Saturday, was dry and clear for the 2,354 people
who registered... |
The light rain on Sunday, |
didn't dampen the spirits |
of the 5000+ attendees who registered on Sunday |
Participants gather around |
to get their packets, room assignments, keys, |
and complimentary mugs. |
After these are distributed everyone moves toward their
residence hall to unpack and settle in for a week to remember |
