<p><a href="parade_01.jpg"><img src="parade_01_thumb.jpg" alt="Parade of Golf Carts" width="100" height="75"  align="right" class="thumb"></a>Founders' Day is a day to celebrate the origins of our Order, gather for food and fellowship, and end NOAC in a bang. What better way is there to kick off the Founders' Day party than with a parade? It began at 8:30 A.M. in the Lied Recreation Center&rsquo;s parking lot and ended in the Maple-Willow-Larch parking lot. It was lead by the National Chief and Vice-Chief in a convertible followed by a U.S. Navy Drill Team. Region Chiefs led an armada of Section Chiefs competing for the best decorated golf carts. The Section Chiefs attempted to win over the crowd with candy. When that didn&rsquo;t work, they doused the crowd with water balloons. Following the golf carts, were representatives from each lodge carrying their giant flap signs.</p>
<p><a href="parade_02.jpg"><img src="parade_02_thumb.jpg" alt="The National Officers" width="100" height="75"  align="left" class="thumb"></a>Also marching in the parade was the Brotherhood Band and Brotherhood Chorus, performing a mix of patriotic music. A group of brightly dressed Indian dancers and even the ISU mascot, Cy, got a piece of the action. Iowa State University&rsquo;s School of Engineering also drove their solar powered car in the Founders' Day Parade demonstrating its acceleration capabilities.</p>
