American Indian Pow Wow

The American Indian Activities staff has worked hard to prepare a non-competitive, fun event for those Arrowmen involved in the variety of dance styles. It is also the only opportunity for adult men and women at NOAC to participate in the fun and excitement of dancing.

The American Indian Activities committee was expecting 500 dancers to participate in the pow wow, and that expectation was most certainly fulfilled.

American Indian Dancing
Dancers at the Pow Wow "This is cool, it's something that I look forward to every NOAC," says James of Mikanakawa Lodge #101.  "The opportunities for fellowship with other dancers here is unlimited, its fun to meet the other people that you dance with."

Styles of dance ranged from Eastern Straight Dance to the new, exciting Southern Fancy Dance.

Each NOAC participant was able to make Indian crafts during the Pow Wow. The American Indian Activities staff has worked hard to make this event one of the features of Founders’ Day. Women enjoy the dance.

Revised 8/2/00.
