Web Chair's Comments

Today was the last day of NOAC 2000 and it certainly was a fitting end to a great Conference. After five days of brotherhood and fellowship, everyone is preparing to pack up their things and leave the Conference with memories that will last a lifetime.

As you can see from today's banner pictures, we decided to focus on Founders' Day. This daylong celebration was filled with games, lodge giveaways, and fun. The climax of NOAC 2000 came tonight with the closing theme show. Nothing can quite describe the feeling of electricity and excitement in the air when 7000 Arrowmen come together for one last night of celebration.

Be sure to check out our coverage of Founders' Day as well as all of the Conference Competition results.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you at home who have continued to check back so regularly everyday and for sending us so many encouraging comments. I would also like to thank my entire staff, who has worked so hard throughout the Conference to put together a high quality site every day. Without your support and their help, it would have been impossible to make this web site a reality. Thank you for everything - We'll see you in Indiana in 2002.

Yours In Service,

Aaron Kreager
NOAC 2000 Web Site Chairman

Associate Adviser's Remarks

This Conference is only the second time that a NOAC has had a web site. Over the past six days the Web Site Staff has spent over a twelve-hundred man-hours setting up computers and servers, writing articles, getting pictures, and creating web pages for the site.

This NOAC we covered almost double the amount of material we did in 1998, updated the web site twice a day, and used a shared pool of writers and photographers in conjunction with the Newspaper Staff. For the first time, we used a mirrored server for development locally in our lab and added video clips that were produced by NOAC Shows Staff.

One of the most gratifying experiences of NOAC is working with other Arrowmen from around the country. This year was no different, as the talent and dedication of the youth and adults was amazing. Most of the staff spent long hours in the lab, often eating pizza or fast food to save time traveling to and from meals. It was also a week of getting to know friends in person instead of just by email.

Thursday morning sees us departing from Knoxville, leaving our impression, words, and actions behind, but our experience at NOAC lives on in these pages.

In Brotherhood,

Doug Kupec
Associate Adviser, NOAC 2000 Web Site Staff
