A New OA
Handbook
The handbook, revised every two years, is provided as
a guide to members on the organization’s history, events and resources. This
108-page handbook is distributed to everyone attending NOAC or is available to
purchase from National Boy Scout Supply Division.
The handbook explains the ideals of the Order in
depth, along with a brief history. It has sections on leadership in your
chapter, lodge and section, and outlines who does what and why.
The handbook is not just for youth, it also has
sections on adult leadership and roles and the importance of the American Indian
in the organization. An English to Lenni Lenape dictionary also is included as
one of the many reference items in the publication.
Though the cover of the Revised 2000 Edition looks the same, there are a few
important changes and the new handbook has a new part number: 34996B. Changes in this edition include an updated officer
and conference listing, as well as information about the National Leadership
Summit, Northern Tier Wilderness Voyage and the new Troop/Team Representative
program.
The handbook can serve as a starting point for
new Arrowmen, or as a refresher for seasoned brothers.
Revised 7/30/00.
