Inductions and Ceremonial Training

How to have an effective Ordeal

The Inductions and Ceremonial Events Committee, in cooperation with the Training Committee, presented several training sessions focusing on the Order of the Arrow Ceremonies and the Induction process. The staff conducted training on everything from Vigil staging to the nuts and bolts of ceremonies.

"We loved the training.  We were able to discuss the ceremonies and different techniques.  It was great to collaborate with other Lodges," said BJ and Kenny from Taleka Lodge #81.

Attentive Arrowmen

Many other Arrowmen commented positively on the session, How to Run an Effective Ordeal, saying that it was a very interactive course with a excellent instructor. This specific course focused on many aspects of an Ordeal that many Arrowmen don't see. The participants discussed the administrative, logistical, and ceremonial points of an Ordeal.

Introduction to Ceremonies was another favorite among the participants. This session introduced many new Arrowmen to ways and reasons of Order of the Arrow ceremonies. The course emphasized several core ceremonial topics. The instructor gave examples of what a ceremonialist is versus an actor.

The Inductions and Ceremonial Training sessions were a favorite at the conference, and many Arrowmen will take home the skills to improve their local lodge's ceremonies.
