Meet Anthony, the 2018 National Chief
By Michael Dragone
Anthony Peluso serves as the 2018 national chief of the Order of the Arrow. He experienced his first national Scouting event at NOAC 2015. Peluso noted walking into the shows arena on the first day was his most significant Scouting memory. Peluso saw the unity of our brotherhood present in the 2015 arena, and is just as excited to see it here in Indiana this year.
When asked about his position, Peluso said he is very honored to serve as the 2018 National Chief and is very thankful for all his interactions with members at events around the nation. He is looking forward to the upcoming program changes allowing young men and women to experience the same opportunities. “It is an exciting time to be an Arrowman, though with some challenges, we will be able to open our program to many more youth.”
Peluso wants every delegate to have a great experience to strengthen their purpose and progress as members. “Go meet new Arrowmen, try a new activity, and do something new every day. This week is going to fly by, so make plans to do as much as you can. Most importantly, leave with a sense of recommitment of values you already live by.” Even if you have been at a NOAC in the past, try your best (as a Scout would) to set the example.
Peluso is an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of Blue Heron Lodge. Prior to his election as national chief, he served as section chief for SR-7A, and is a recipient of the Founder’s Award. Anthony is an economics major at Virginia Tech and plans to attend law school following his graduation.
