Closing Show, Thursday, August 6, 1998

Thursday morning, the Arrowmen filed into Hilton Coliseum for the final show of NOAC 98. There was the usual LottOA drawing for V.I.P. seats that was won by Taleka Lodge #81 of Illinois. Lenny Loosejocks appeared for one final adventure on the big screen.

The Closing Show featured The Brotherhood Band and Chorus.  Several songs were performed including a moving rendition of The Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Roger Olmstead, Associate Chief Scout Executive of the BSA, was presented with the Distinguished Service Award.  He also gave a speech discussing the Order of the Arrow's Service to America Program, and a video was presented showing the service projects done here at NOAC.

Following Mr. Olmstead, Mat Milleson, National Chief,  gave his final remarks of the Conference.  He said that "yesterday is memories, tomorrow is mysteries, today is a gift - that's why they call it the present."
