NOAC 98 - OA Museum Officially Open!

OA Museum Officially Open!

museum2.jpg (17931 bytes)

The OA Museum opened for viewing today in the Scheman Building to welcome a record crowd.  Included among the many attractions is a large collection of Dr. Goodman's personal memorabilia.  This material includes uniforming worn by Dr. Goodman, paintings, medals, drawings, newspaper articles, and photographs.

Another large attraction is the personal collection of Mr. Terry Grove.  It includes the largest collection of Eagle Scout memorabilia ever assembled, as well as a large sash display.  If it is official BSA (or even if it isn't) and has the Eagle Scout logo on it, chances are it is here.  If it's white, red, or black, has an arrow on it, and is worn over your shoulder, you should be able to find it here.

Looking for advice in the Order?   The collection of OA Handbooks on display includes a copy of almost ever edition printed.  Don't miss any of it.

Looking for patches??  The American Scout Traders Association has an exhibit full of information.

Last, but not least, don't miss the various lodge exhibits.  Many lodges have taken the time to share their personal memorabilia with the entire Conference.  The generosity of the lodges participating in the museum gives all Arrowmen a chance to view memorabilia from all parts of the country.
