Are you into history? Do you want to learn about the history of the Order of the Arrow and Scouting? Then the OA Museum is right up your alley. This year’s museum will showcase six time periods, ranging from the founding and early years of Scouting to the beginning of National Conferences to Scouting today. Exhibits will include artifacts from each era including Scout uniforms and insignia, Baden Powell and Goodman memorabilia, OA sashes, literature, pictures, BSA awards, etc. There will also be a separate room that display’s the history of every Lodge across the nation.

Along the way through the museum, there will be special areas that highlight some of Scouting’s greatest leaders. These special areas will portray individuals such as Lord Baden Powell, William D. Boyce, James E. West, Carroll A. Edson, E. Urner Goodman, George Fiel, Thomas McBride, Carl Marchetti, Ed Pease, Brad Haddock, and one of the latest Lifetime Achievement Award winners, Del Loder. Youth who have had an impact on the Order, such as this year’s National Officers and Conference Vice Chiefs, will also be presented in the museum.

In addition to these exhibits, Arrowmen will have a chance to record their own personal history and put it on display in the museum during the Conference. The purpose of this is to help prepare a more comprehensive history of our Order that can be put on display during the 2015 NOAC, the 100th anniversary of the Order of the Arrow.

On Sunday at NOAC, there will be a reception for recipients of the Founders’ Award at the Museum. Those who have been honored with this prestigious award are invited to join for fellowship and a special viewing of the Museum. Recipients will have a chance to enjoy the exhibits prior to opening to the rest of the Arrowmen.

This year’s museum will be different from one’s past. It will be inspirational, historical, exciting, personal, and interactive. We hope you join us for this incredible experience.
