As NOAC Fades Away

After the 2006 NOAC, many may ask "what's in store" for the Order in the years ahead.  As Arrowmen have heard throughout the conference, NOAC is switching to an odd-year cycle to accommodate the National Scout Jamboree, so both organizations can celebrate their 100th anniversary on their respective years.  Everyone is excited about the programs that are in place during the three-year space between the 2006 NOAC and the next.

The 2007 World Scout Jamboree will be held in the United 2007 World Jamboree Logo Kingdom from July 27 to August 8, 2007.  It promises to be one of the biggest events, occurring on the centennial of Scouting's worldwide inception, and will carry the theme "One World, One Promise" to over 40,000 Scouts.  The BSA sent 301 Scouts and leaders to the First World Scout Jamboree, and according to the BSA World Scout Jamboree Site: "3,200 American Scouts/leaders are invited to return to the birthplace of Scouting during the summer of 2007."

ArrowCorps5 LogoThe next event in the Order is the massive ArrowCorps5 project, which promises to be one of the largest service projects in the history of the Order. During the summer of 2008, five thousand Arrowmen from around the country will gather at five separate US Forest Service lands, providing meaningful service to the area.  Lodges can attend as many projects as they want, and they are not bound to the project closest to their region.Indiana University Logo

The 2009 NOAC  will be held at Indiana University.  This event promises to be one of the most fun and exciting times for the Order.  The new Strategic Plan will be unveiled and the Order will have a new direction for the next few years.
