Lodges Receive Award for Showing Spirit

During the course of the conference, lodges attempted to qualify for the 2006 NOAC Lodge Spirit Award. In order to receive this honor, lodges must have demonstrated effective planning, participation, and teamwork at NOAC. The awards were presented in a special ceremony at the Founders Day Fair on Wednesday.

The requirements the lodges had to meet to receive the NOAC Lodge Spirit Award were:

Below are the criteria for the Lodge Spirit Award at the 2006 NOAC. In order to earn the award the Lodge must meet each of the following requirements:

  1. Meet in the minimum lodge NOAC contingent quota of 10 + 3% of the lodge's 2005 charter year membership.
  2. Choose one of the following:
    a. Prepare a lodge history display or presentation for the OA Museum
    b. Sponsor a booth at the Founder's Day Fair
  3. The lodge chief or his representative AND the youngest member of the NOAC contingent attend one of the Very Important Arrowmen (VIA) luncheons.
  4. Choose one of the following:
    1. Participate in one Activities and Recreation TEAM athletic competition. Examples include:
      1. Basketball Tournament
      2. Lodgeball (Dodgeball) Tournament
      3. OA Amazing Race
      4. Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
      5. Volleyball Tournament
    2. Participate in any non-athletic activity from the following list:
      1. Lodge Web Site Competition
      2. Arrowman Press Corps
    3. Participate in at least one team ceremonies evaluation.
  5. At least two of the three Key 3 members attend the 2006 National Council of Chiefs (NCOC)
  6. Achieve a minimum of 75% training attendance on each day, and be one of the top five lodges in your region for training participation.
  7. Commit to attending ArrowCorps 5 (the 2008 National Service Project and program of emphasis) by turning in a written interest with a preliminary number of participants and site commitment. Turn in to Special Events office by Tuesday, August 1, at Noon.
  8. Complete and submit an application to receive the spirit award at NOAC Registration prior to the end of the program sign-up period.
