Conference Food Drive A Success!

The Order of the Arrow is all about service.  Since NOAC is one of the largest gathering of Arrowmen in the world, it is an outstanding opportunity to provide service on a grand scale.  The Activities and Recreation Committee (ARC) held a food drive to collect non-perishable food items to help the less fortunate and needy in the Lansing area.

As the lodges arrived on Saturday, non-perishable food items were collected by ARC on the Munn Intramural Field.  Lodges brought in boxes upon boxes of canned goods for the event. Collection started at 9 AM and ran until 5 PM. By 1 PM, the food collection truck was well on its way to being full thanks the generous contributions of many lodges. The food was donated to the Greater Lansing Food Bank where it will be distributed to smaller food banks around the city for delivery to families and individuals. The food drive is just one way the Order of the Arrow will contribute positively to the local community and show that we truly are a brotherhood of cheerful service.
