Do It at TOAP

Arrowman Throwing HatchesTOAP (The Outdoor Adventure Place) is a program area featuring presentations, demonstrations and activities focusing on outdoor skills and programs and is staffed by more than 100 experienced Scouts and Scouters from around the country.  Among the demonstrations are monkey bridges, high adventure activities, model campsites, rock climbing and opportunities to learn Scout skills.

One of the educational offerings of TOAP is the Leave No Trace area which is sponsored by the National Parks Service.  A US Forest Officer presents a 50-minute program on how we as Scouts must Leave No Trace so that the beauty of the great outdoors will be preserved for generations to come.

Another popular booth at TOAP is ArrowCorps5 where information is being distributed on the biggest service and high adventure undertaking the Order has ever done. In 2008, the national Order of the Arrow program will coordinate 5000 Arrowmen to perform 5 weeks of service at 5 different national parks.  At the ArrowCorps5 booth, Arrowmen are shown each park on a map and information about the work projects and high adventure opportunities is available.
