Preschool Triathlon Headlines Daily Competitions

Check-In At Sunday's ARC EventThe Activities and Recreation Committee (ARC) organized many of the events Sunday afternoon, among which included the lodge basketball, volleyball and dodgeball competitions, games of capture the flag, the "open areas" throughout the campus, and ultimate frisbee.

Preschool Triathlon ParticipantsNew this year to NOAC is the three-day-long Preschool Triathlon.  The over 100-member-strong ARC group created this event, with each day (starting Sunday) to feature a different competition in the triathlon.  Sunday's event was a basketball free throw toss in which Arrowmen scored points based on how many baskets they made out of a possible ten in fifteen seconds.  Monday will feature a T-Ball Home Run Derby, and Tuesday will wrap up the event with a Bouncey-Ball Race.  An award will be presented at the closing ceremony to those who collect the most points throughout the three-day event.  ARC staff was in good spirits, saying that the prize would be "small enough to fit on the airplane for the ride home."

Another event that ran at the same time as the Triathlon was the Amazing Race.  The OA's version of the Amazing Race is similar to a scavenger hunt, with each of the three different legs of the race happening Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.  Each one of the legs operates much the same as the others, with teams meeting at the ARC headquarters and receiving their first clue.  Their first clue leads to a location on the MSU campus, which contains another clue.  When the team reaches the location indicated by the second clue, they have questions to answer.  The team brings these questions back to the ARC headquarters, where their timer stops.  For every wrong answer the team has, time is added to their total.

The Activities and Recreation Committee is committed to providing constant activities throughout the week.  There is truly something for everyone (all the time) at NOAC.
