NOAC Conference Staff

A National Order of the Arrow Conference could not function effectively without the dedicated service of those Arrowmen who work with the conference committees. These Arrowmen are referred to as "conference staff".

Members of the NOAC staff pay their own way to the conference, often traveling with their own council contingent. At the conference, they are housed with the conference staff and work in a support role to help make the national conference a successful and enjoyable event.

Conference Staff Applicants

[The NOAC Registration Site]

All Arrowmen interested in being considered for a staff assignment must complete a Staff Application and return it to the national OA office by February 1, 2004. Staff Applications can be obtained by going to the conference online registration website: www.noacregistration.com.

All Arrowmen interested in serving as NOAC staff members MUST have their Scout executive, lodge adviser, the OA Director, and a conference committee lead adviser's approval before they will be sent a "Notice of Staff Assignment/Registration" form.

A more detailed description of the process is given below.

Detailed NOAC Staff Application Process

  1. All Arrowmen interested in serving on the NOAC staff can submit a Conference Staff Application on the NOAC registration website: www.noacregistration.com.

  2. Applicants will be asked to enter a detailed description of their qualifications in the conference area in which they have a specific interest. Signatures of the local Scout executive and lodge adviser are required. The deadline for submitting a NOAC Conference Staff Application to the national office for OA Director and lead adviser approval is February 1, 2004.

  3. Once the applicant's paperwork is received in the national office, the conference lead adviser will review the qualifications and either approve or reject the applicant. If rejected by the lead adviser, the applicant will be placed in a staff pool for consideration by all committee lead advisers.

If approved, the lead adviser will specify an approved arrival date and first meal, and a Notice of Staff Assignment / Registration Form will be sent to the applicant electronically. By signing the form, the applicant acknowledges that they have read and will abide by the conference code of conduct and statement of understanding. The Notice of Staff Assignment / Registration Form and conference fee of $335.00 are due by May 31, 2004 and should be mailed to the national OA office:
        Order of the Arrow
        Boy Scouts of America
        P.O. Box 152079
        Irving, TX 75015-2079

All applications must then receive final approval by the Director of the Order of the Arrow.

  4. Those applicants not selected to serve on the conference staff will be electronically notified that a position was not available. These notifications are sent after all staff positions are filled or by May 1, 2004, whichever occurs first. Applicants can check the status of their paperwork through the registration website: www.noacregistration.com .
