National Council of Chiefs

Lodge Chief BindersToday, the first true National Council of Chiefs meeting was held. In the past, National Council of Chiefs meetings have been held at NOAC, but with only two regions meeting at a time. This year's meeting brought together over a thousand Arrowmen into Stephens Auditorium at eight this morning. All of Lodge Chiefs in attendance received a folder containing key OA information to take back to their lodge.

This document outlines the Order of the Arrow's plans for leadership, service, and financial support for a five year period. Next the new Lodge Leadership Development course was discussed. The new course packs in seven times the content of the previous version and is available online from the National Order of the Arrow Web Site. The new LLD web site has a vast database that is updated regularly and is searchable for a variety of training materials. After the new LLD course, the Order of the Arrow budget was also reviewed and an explaination was made for the need for an increase in dues..

NE Region Chief shaking Mark Chilutti's handThe chiefs were divided into discussion groups to discuss topics ranging from Jumpstart to the Elagomat program. After the discussion topics finished, National Committee member Mark Chilutti gave an inspiring speech discussing the many ordeals that one goes through in life, including his. It was a good reminder that life is full of challenges and ordeals that we all must face as leaders. At the end of the meeting, the NCOC voted on several resolutions, all of which were passed.
