Assistant Adviser Closing Comments

For a moment, let me take you back six years ago to the National Order of the Arrow Conference held once before at Ames, Iowa. It was at that conference that seven Arrowmen started on a journey to create an online resource for NOAC '98. This was the birth of www.oa-bsa.org.

This NOAC, eighteen Arrowmen (working in the same room as in 1998), continued the legacy set forth by the seven Arrowmen. Most of the members of the NOAC '04 Web Staff never met before NOAC. They have only communicated through email and phone conversations. Once at Ames, these eighteen Arrowmen formed a tight group from the day they entered the lab. They worked hard, played hard, and had a great experience bringing you NOAC '04 Live!

Today, www.oa-bsa.org contains not only NOAC '04 Live!, but has grown to become a vast Order of the Arrow resource containing past national events, current national programs, training materials, and the future direction of the Order of the Arrow. The National Order of the Arrow Web Site has touched thousands of lives and brought Arrowmen, Scouts, Scouters, friends and family closer together by experiencing what we have: the NOAC experience.

It is truly amazing to see the leadership and the dedication of the youth at this conference. Their untiring efforts, never ending enthusiasm and playfulness added all to the success of the past week. I would like to thank them for their efforts.

We look forward to serving you at NOAC 2006 at Michigan State University and the chance to create NOAC 2006 Live!

Yours in service,

Doug Kupec
Assistant Adviser
National Order of the Arrow Web Staff
