Bill Bryant was a staff member at the 1977 NOAC in Knoxville, Tennessee. This year, he is a member of the Wipala Wiki lodge contingent, coming from Tempe, Arizona.
Q. Today you were in the Museum looking at the old panoramic photos and you found you and your dad, Roscoe Bryant in the photo of the 1977 conference. What was it like to see yourself in that photo?
A. Seeing myself in that photo brought back good memories of the time I spent with my dad and the times we had together at NOAC. I wish today they were still taking the panoramic photos here.
Q. What was it like to be a trainer at the conference?
A. It was a great feeling because my father and I were both trainers.
Q. What was the weather like during the NOAC?
A. The weather was hot and humid for the conference.
Q. At the time, how many NOACs had you attended?
A. The 1977 NOAC was my ninth conference.
Q. What year did you see E. Urner Goodman?
A. I was able to meet E. Urner Goodman when I was getting my sash signed in 1963. I had waited in a line for two hours to meet him.
Q. What is the difference you have seen in the training today?
A. The major difference that I have seen in the NOAC Training is the technology. When I taught my class in 1977, all we had were handouts.
Q. What do you like most about NOAC?
A. Getting to meet old friends and reflect on the past and find out what they are up to.
Q. Why did you come to NOAC?
A. The reason why I came to NOAC this year is because it's my son William's first time to attend NOAC. I hope he treasures this moment and is able to reflect on this when he is older.
