High Adventure Expo
Exhibitors at the Expo

One of the vendor boothsThe High Adventure Expo, featuring equipment vendors and information on high adventure opportunities, began on Monday at NOAC 2004! There was a lot to learn and even more to win -lots of free stuff. Each participant was given a book of coupons to redeem at the Expo for a chance to win one of the many door prizes being offered. Many of the vendors also offered free gifts as part of their displays.

Campfire in a CanThe High Adventure Expo was a wonderful opportunity for NOAC participants to see and play with all of the newest outdoor gadgets, but provided an excellent opportunity for everyone to learn more about what’s available for camping. Some of the items on display included pocket chain saws, the "campfire in a can", and lights that attach to the bill of a cap. Another item of interest was the "supershelter" that can be used as a tent, a hammock or a chair (try to figure that out). Arrowmen had great fun at the Expo and were also able to find out about special discounts some equipment companies provide for Scout groups.

National Jamboree boothIn addition to vendor booths, the High Adventure Expo also provided information about many different high adventure opportunities. Of course there was information about the OA Trail Crew at Philmont, the OA Wilderness Voyage at the Sommers Canoe Base and the newest Order of the Arrow program, the OA Ocean Adventure at SeaBase. Participants were also able to obtain information about opportunities at the 2005 National Jamboree, the 2007 World Jamboree.

The High Adventure Expo was the place to be. Not only did the Arrowmen get great information, they got free stuff! What could be better?
