Introduction to NOAC Training

Every Arrowman that attends NOAC is to enroll in a comprehensive three-day training program. The conference allows you and the members of your lodge contingent to select from an extensive topic list highlighted by program/administrative/leadership training, detailed inductions and ceremonies training, specialized American Indian training sessions, and outdoor activities training.

Each NOAC participant is required to complete the individual registration form that is enclosed with the Program and Training Guide for Participants. Training programs are an important part of the conference experience. All participants will be asked to select the group of courses, called cells, that they are interested in for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday morning. On Sunday and Tuesday mornings an offering of workshops will also be available.

The Cell Concept: The Conference Vice-Chiefs for Leadership Development, Inductions and Ceremonial Events, Camping and High Adventure, and American Indian Activities have developed a series of training cells. Sessions that have similar topics have been grouped together to provide an Arrowman with a comprehensive three-hour block of training on one major topic. This grouping of three 50-minute sessions will together form a CELL of training.

Workshops: Offered on Sunday and Tuesday, the 90 minute workshops available will allow smaller groups of Arrowmen led by a very experienced instructors, to present a hands-on, in-depth program on topics of interest to many Arrowman.

An Arrowman who attends the conference has the ability to enroll in cells that meet his or her interests. A special three-day Intensive Train-The-Trainer (IT) workshop is also offered from the Leadership Development committee. The Inductions and Ceremonial Events committee is offering the IT workshop, a full-range, three-day ceremonies workshop on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
