Meet the Man

National officers field questions at Meet the Man

Today's session of "Meet the Man" featured the National Officers:

  • Clay Capp - National Chief
  • Riley Berg - National Vice Chief
  • Brian Favat - Northeast Region Chief
  • Nathan Finnin - Southern Region Chief
  • Brian Herren - Central Region Chief
  • Dominic Pascucci - Western Region Chief

Here are some of the questions asked by Arrowmen while at the conference or submitted from the web site along with answers provided by the National Officers.

Q: Is it hard to balance your OA responsibilities with your school responsibilities?
A: Berg: "No, I found that if I put school first OA and all my other responsibilities fall into place."

Q: What are some of the major accomplishments you guys have made this year?
A: Capp: "One of the major things we have done this year is the freezing of the National Quality Lodge requirements so they didn't change this year, because we feel they are hard enough to achieve without major changes every year."

Q: What is NLS and why should I go?
A: Favat: "NLS is for aspiring lodge leaders, it is an intense three day training session that's a lot of fun and work."

Q: Is there any valuable resources that the Inductions Committee should use?
A: Finnin: "There is a new Guide to Inductions that was unveiled and there were resource discs that you received in you participant packets."

Q: Where is NOAC 2004 going to be and how do I get on NOAC staff?
A: Herren: "NOAC 2004 will be at Iowa State University and to get on staff you have to go to the NOAC web site and fill out the staff application."

Q: Did any of you run for National Chief before you ran for the position you have?
A: Pascucci: "No, I didn't run for National Chief. I had decided I wanted to be the Western Region Chief and that's what I ran for.

Q: How does an event like a NOAC affect the local community and college?
A: Herren: "Pizza places love us... But seriously it helps make the Order look good, people get to see us work and have fun and that we're pretty cool people."
