Q/A: What to Bring to NOAC
(Uniforms and Equipment)

Q: What should a participant bring to NOAC? What does a lodge contingent need to bring?

A: Each participant should plan to bring two or three uniforms and the recommended personal equipment, as described below. Lodges should make sure they have the contingent equipment listed at the end.

Official NOAC Uniform

The Official Scout Uniform for youth and leaders at NOAC is:

  • Scout shorts or trousers
  • Scout shirt, short-sleeve casual
  • Scout khaki web or leather belt
  • Scout socks
  • Scout visored cap (mesh) or conference cap
  • Order of the Arrow sash

The activities uniform for youth and leaders at NOAC is:

  • NOAC T-shirt or golf shirt
  • Scout shorts
  • Scout belt
  • Scout socks
  • Scout or conference visored cap

Uniform Notes:

Participants attending seminars, shows, and training sessions will be expected to be in full official Scout uniform. The activity uniform is for use in athletic events only.

On Founder's Day, Wednesday July 31, Arrowmen may wear the conference golf shirt or T-shirt with Scout pants or shorts, Scout socks, and Scout or conference visored cap.

Each participant is encouraged to also bring one or more T-shirts as a silkscreen opportunity is planned for Founder's Day.

T-shirts are not to be worn at special functions.

Absolutely no variations to the official Scout uniform are to be made. No hats, helmets, or caps, other than those listed as the official NOAC uniform, shall be worn enroute or at the conference. (Contingent leaders are expected to set the example!)
