Behind the Scenes at NOAC TodayEvery morning, Arrowmen are greeted by a stack of NOAC Today newspapers outside the door of the cafeterias. The newspaper has daily features such as weather forecasts, show and event recaps, training and other event promotion, interviews, Region Chief profiles, a calendar and "Quiver Quirks," the daily cartoon.
NOAC Today, which is the official newspaper of the Conference, has a staff of 15 youth and 18 adults. Among the staff, there are 10 copy writers, seven photographers, two graphics designers, seven layout editors and fifteen support staff members. Along with these staffers, a 12-member Editorial Board writes stories for the paper. The editors come up with a story list, assign stories to members of the Editorial Board and the stories are then edited and printed.
Along with publishing a newspaper every day of NOAC, members of the staff also judged the lodge newsletter competition. About 75 Lodges from around the nation submitted newsletters to be judged. Revised 8/1/00. |
