What to Bring

"A" Uniform

  • 1 Activity Uniform at all campfire programs
  • 1 Official Field Uniform (primarily for arrival, departure, and picture taking)
    • Uniform shirt, trousers, shorts, scout socks, scout belt, OA sash
Personal
  • Physical/medical form (REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION – NO EXCEPTIONS)
  • Pack (with frame & hip belt)
  • Pack cover, water proof (or plastic bag
  • Fanny pack
  • Light weight pair of shoes
  • Water bottle (2)
  • Work socks
  • Windbreaker, jacket or fleece
  • Cap, baseball type
  • Bath towel/hand towel
  • Soap (bio-degradable liquid preferred)
  • Insect repellant & sunscreen (non-aerosol)
  • Flashlight and batteries
  • Plastic bags (Ziplock) for clothes in pack
  • Cup, plastic
  • Rain suit or poncho
  • Underwear for the week
  • Swim suit
  • Pencil/pen/notepad
  • Spending money
  • Personal medications
  • Watch
  • Tooth brush & paste
  • Chap stick
  • Toilet paper, partial roll
  • First aid kit (moleskin, band aids, bee sting)
PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Working/hiking boots (broken in)USFS requires ankle high
  • Trousers, long (required at worksite)

Sleeping
  • Sleeping bag
  • Individual tent & ground cloth OR Backpacking tent (required at worksite)
  • Foam or Thermarest pad

  • Camera, film and batteries
  • Foot powder
  • Sun glasses
  • Pillow
  • Hydration pack
  • Comb or small plastic brush
  • Small mirror

Note:
(1) Cell phones should be left at home
(2) Axes, hatchets, sheath knives, matches, electronic toys, TV, radios, footlockers, expensive watches or jewelry, and other things you do not want to lose should be left at home as well.
(3) Pack as if you are going to a week long summer camp experience
